Is there any way to attach a buffer box to a Norstar system to capture any "system message" (i.e. a T1 goes down, a failure in one of the system parts, etc.)????

thanks

Depending on the system and sowftware version, most systems come defaulted to display the alarm messages at the first extension on the system, at that point the user must clear those alarms by using the softkey under the display. Under feature settings you can define an alarm set to one that is used less frequently or make sure you ask the receptionist not to clear them before you can look at them.

i always setup an additional set by the phone system for alarms and other programming. i just install a used 7310 that i picked up along the way and build it into my cost. I would make the suggestion to all of you as it really does make things easier. i do this for panasonics as well and make the phone a manager for programming. keeps the receptionist from being bothered ands keeps you in control of the alarms on the norstars.
