We lost powerto our Norstar Modular ICS for several minutes and now all the phone display "Denied in Admin" when trying to make an outbound call. All inbound and voicemail are working fine. We've rebooted several times, to no avail.

Can anyone assist? Thanks!

How are you trying to make outside calls? What key do you normally press for an outside line. It sounds as though you may have lost programming and the key you are hitting for dial out may no longer be what it used to be. Normally if a call is restricted throuh COS you will get "restrcicted call" not "denied in admin". You can check the buttons by using Ftr *0, then pressing the buttons on the set and the display will show you what the button is programmed for.

We dial "9" for an external call. The Ftr *0 does not respond to the "9" key. All the other programmed buttons are still working.

Thanks!

make sure you did not lose some programming and that the 9 is still the digit to access pool A.

If you are famillar with how to enter programming, I would check the lines to make sure they are still in a line pool, then check the extensions under "Terminal & Sets" to make sure they have access to those pools. Did the system hold the time and date? If it did not, that is a pretty good indication that you have lost the system programming.

Found the problem. For whatever reason, the route was set to "Pool A" instead of "PRI-A". That's very odd, as we've lost power before, and the system has always came back up with all it's previous settings. I hope there aren't any others that have gotten dropped.

Thanks for your help!

you probably have a release 1 NVRAM
and this is a problem there, try changing to rel2 ... as there are other memory loss related issues with this cartridge
