i got nortel meridain. and it has m12x0. there is like an external power supply that needs to be punched some place. do you know where on 66 block i need to punch it?

Punch what pair?? Your topic states that you have a 12 line module ---what are you trying to do with the system? And the module? Do you have the appropriate line cartridges?? What does the 24v power supply have to do with anything?? More information is needed.

With all due respect... Your bio says you're in IT. Hire a professional voice tech. You can find one at the link on the top of page "INSTALLERS".

The power supply doesn't go to the Trunk Module...it's not the source of your problem.

No matter what----be careful of that 24v power supply!!

do you have a clue as to what the power supply is for ?

(if you knew , it would help you know where to punch it down )

reads like a console power supply
Posted By: dyka00 Re: M12X0 - 09/10/07 09:22 AM
i think it was for the expension cabinet. Because someone unpluged it some time back and half the lines were not working. so im pretty sure it has something to do with m12x0.. also the light on 12x0 is red as opposed to being green.

I'm really not sure the so called "nortel guru's" are where the "clue" has been lost!

:bang:

if you have a lite that means you dont need the power supply

I can say I am not a Nortel guru but let me see if I can help.
You are a IT person you have never stepped foot into by place of business and have never seen my equipment and I post: I have a orange cord where do I plug it in?

If you look in the mirror... you'll find someone clueless staring back at you.

telemarv. you need to shave.
Posted By: nfcphoneman Re: M12X0 - 09/10/07 09:53 AM
As stated, it is not for the 12x0. The only Nortel 24V power supply I've encountered is for a CAP/KLM, at least where the Norstar is concerned.

I'm not Nortel either but the power supply part number may help more then the trunk card. The only reason I would think a 24 v supply may connect to a 66 block with trunk lines would be for external paging like Valcom. Your going to have to explain what type of equipment you have as was stated if your trunk card has lights then its working. Your best choice would be to click here and find some professional help call

Go ahead keep insults coming...

the part number for the power supply is A0729993. thanks

All of those Nortel guru's have tried to tell you that the power supply you have is NOT for the 12X0 module. That power supply is for a different piece of equipment. I will advise you that this is the wrong place for the "IT Attitude".

Sorry, I couldn't help it, I felt left out.

What is the deal with Chicago today????

If your system has power then you would be well advised to leave that power supply disconnected or this just going to get worse real fast.

If you want to get the most out of the Nortel then you need to get a technician involved, usually cash is an asset in that area! Marv could have helped you but ya done went and insulted him so that is out!

Dyka00
Why not post all the control equip you now have
and what your trying to accomplish .
forget about the power supply and lets move past it.
Posted By: luv2ski Re: M12X0 - 09/10/07 10:27 AM
also better to post NT part number instead of AO number
Posted By: phoneguy1962 Re: M12X0 - 09/10/07 12:36 PM
dyka does your system have a dss module onit. If you do, is it still working with the transformed discoed.
Posted By: dyka00 Re: M12X0 - 09/10/07 12:36 PM
Thank you JWRacedog
Helped a lot. seems like some one understood. all it was is the P/S for DSS.

Thanks again JWRacedog

if you would have plugged the part number into google you would have known what it was to
Posted By: RATHER BE FISHING Re: M12X0 - 09/10/07 12:57 PM
Oh lots understood what you had...CAP power supply and no clue. At least 4 people told you initially that the power had nothing to do with the 12X0.

I want to thank everyone for their time and responces.
Good day.

If half your lines still aren't working and it started when they unplugged the power supply, I'd check the hangoff cable. They may have knocked it loose and killed half your lines.
