I am a very frustrated receptionist. Have finally figured out how to allocated our internal lines to the buttons on my nortel phone but can not for the life of me figure out how to put names to the numbers. I can't see any other information on the phone other than a number underneath... m7324... can anyone help????

If you have access to Admin progamming-- 'show' terminals and sets, enter the DN, then OK, then press 'show', then 'next' 2 times, you'll see 'name' there.

Like Bobcomm said it is in Admin. How you get there depends on your system.

I doubt that you know what kind of system you're dealing with, so give us a hint. How many lines are on it and how many extensions?

You may have as small as a couple of lines or dozens, same for the extensions.

Another hint would be how many digits in the extension number, 2, 3, 4....

No I don't know what kind of system it is I'm dealing with! Okay, lets see... We got 5 x line buttons, 14 x extention buttons, and our extentions have 4 digits in them. Does that help?

It's a start.

Did you try Bobcomm's way? If that doesn't work, & if you have access to Admin progamming...

Once you're in, the display will show 1. System Speed Dial".
Hit "Next" & it'll show "Names". Hit "Enter". The display will show "Set Names". Hit "Enter".
On the dial pad enter the extenion number, ex: 2225
The display will show 2225: 2225
Hit "Chanage", then enter the name desire. Ex: Sue
If there are others that need changing, hit "Back" & enter the next exte number, etc.
When you're finished your changes...
Hit R/s & you're done.
There should be a "User Guide" or "Co-Ordinator's Guide" with that system...probably buried in someone's desk. They are handy to have. If you don't have one, hit the "Manuals" link at the top of the page & purchase one...it's worth it.
