PHONE IS A M7208 WHEN PLUGGED INTO ONE PARTICULAR JACK AND USING THE BUTTON TEST ,TRANSFER BUTTON DISPLAYS LINE 201 BUT ON OTHER JACKS TRANSFER DISPLAYS TRANSFER. IS THERE A MIX UP ON MY CROSSWIRES IN CLOSET OR IS THE JACK CROSSED UP IN WALL,OR SHOULD I MOVE THIS EXTENSION TO THE 2ND PAIR ORANGE WHITE INSTEAD OF BLUE WHITE

It's appears to me that the jack that does not have the transfer button needs to be programmed.

You can program buttons by dialing F*3 > press the button > dila the feature code you want to program. In this case it would F70.

i could reprogram the last # dialed to be the new transfer button .but, when i tried to program the original transfer button it said incoming calls only. any thoughts ? :confused:

It is a different extension number. The other extension was programmed for a different line pattern, where Line 201 was assigned at that ext, and not at the other.

That button is an answer DN. You can't change it from outside of installer programming.

Or its an intercom button and that can be changed if you have more than one assigned.
sets > intercom keys > change > 1
