I am programming a fallback route for voip between 2 bcm 50's. With an automatic service I want services on to appear on ext 2234 not 2221. I thought if I changed the control set for all sets and voip trunks to 2234 that this would happen. But it still shows on ext 2221? What am I missing?

Can you set services manually on 2234?

What Marv meant is you have to change Control set for Lines in Common Settings setup from 2221 to 2234.

With a manual service, if the power goes out does it not turn the service off? and it has to be turned back on with F873. I would sooner it be automatic but it wants to show "services on" on ext 2221 even though i've changed the control sets for ext and lines to 2234.

Yes a PF will reset a manual services setting. What I'm asking is a) CAN you turn on the ringing service from 2234? If not you missed something in the control settings. And b) if you can turn it on does it display services on?

Do you have static display turn on on 2234? This will also blockservices on from being displayed.

I can turn it on manually and it does show on 2234 (manual only).I would sooner use automatic due to the power outage issue, but if set to automatic it shows serv.on on ext 2221

It may be that that's how it works. I assume 2221 is physically on port 101. Try swapping the DN's by physically changing the ports and then do a change DN to exchange the DN numbers. This will put 2234 on 101 and 2221 where 2234 was. It might be that automatic "services on" displays only on the first port of the system.
