I have a CICS configured with a one CI card. All is programmed correctly I have double and triple checked the programming. I was looking at the card and noticed that there is a bank of 8 dip switches. They were all in the down position. I played with some of the settings to see if I could get to work. No such luck. Stamped on the card for North America it showed that switches 678 should be off. I made the changes and….. you guessed it still no caller ID. If I wasn’t already bald I would be pulling my hair out right about now. I have install countless amounts of ICS’s and have never had this problem. I look for documentation for the CI card however was not able to find anything regarding the switch settings. Can anyone help me with this?

Oh yea one more thing; Yes I have tried different Caller ID cards and the caller id shows in test set.

Thanks in advance

What is the S/W version? Have you verified you are receiving CI from the telco?

The switch are for CO matching in different countries.

and the caller id shows in test set.
Ok that omits the Telco.

Now for your programming.
If voice mails answer make sure it answers at 2 rings an no less since the signal is sent between 1st and 2nd ring.

Reception must not answer calls on the first ring for above reasons.

All other sets must use F811 unless the call was transferred by somebody who answered the original call on the 2nd ring or vmail answered on the 2nd ring.

The set must have lines ring at the set to have Call ID.

Call ID must be set to Y in Terms&Ssts
Lines must be assigned in Telco features.

6.0 an under Auto Caller ID is only given to recepetion.

Like Marv states...what country you in?

This system in installed in the U.S. (in the Philadelphia area). It’s installed in a residence using answer call from the telco provider. So there is no receptionist or vm. All the phones in the house ring. The caller ID is set to yes in the term& set and the lines are in the telco features. I have to call in to the RAD to get the S/W version. I believe the verison is greater than 6.0

Any other thoughts?

Does butt set shows CID on the D- mark?

And the answers to my post?

Also does F811 work while call is ringing and also when answered after 2 rings?

The CID does show on the butt set at the d-marc.

F-811 does not work when used after the call is ansewed after 2 or more rings.

Are you only test line 1?
Does line 2 work?
Or move line 1 to line 4 and test.

This is incase an issue with the CICS if your sure your progrmming is correct.

Also if you have 2 line cards and one is a DS card make sure you have the correct CII card in the right slot, i.e for line 1 use Slot 4.

Also document to us every single thing you have done in programming, some they they did it right but sometimes missed something.

I only have one CI card in the cabinet. I only have CID on the first line. I have moved the dial tone to all the ports on the card and tried the card in both slots.

I would change cabinet and software.

Well I just got a call from the customer. It looks like they took a lighting hit. So I’ll be going back out with another cabinet. We'll see what happens.

Thanks for all that advice folks
