I have a Mod 8x24 DR5 or 5.1 (can't remember which) with a Flash 4 that is having an issue with answering for line 5, where I was told it wouldn't answer. (All other lines are answered properly)

I've had this issue before on another Flash, so I had the system coordinator change it to not answer, release, then go back in and change it back to answer. It worked on the other system, but this time it didn't change anything. I then had him reboot the Flash. Now it rings 12 times, then answers on line 5. If you call right back within a couple of minutes it will pickup after 2 rings like it should, next time 12 again.

I'll call back tomorrow am to get him to check the number of rings but I know that it was set for 2, like the other lines.

Failing that, I'll have to go back into Montreal tomorrow to change out the unit or s/w.

I don't know what's worst, the 2 hour drive to Montreal or the actual driving IN Montreal...I was right there today to install another phone. Do you think they could have told me about it THEN?

Any thoughts?

Is this the same system you are having trouble with the M7208?

In this case yes, but originally that M7208 was tried on another system, so I doubt that it is related.

If I have to return to Montreal, I'll test the voltage on the port(s) & compare it with this one. I'll also try it on the CICS that I use here at the office. If it works here, not a big deal....as in no great loss. Just curious though....

Problem solved! The number of rings was at 12, not 2 like it should have been. Who changed it, or how it was changed, I don't know, but we got it changed back and saved a trip to Mtl... :db:
