Is there a way have a guest mail box answer a trunk without using the auto attendant?

welcome
A little more info please... system and software version, line type?

The system is a Compact ICS with 7.1 software. The Voice Mail is a Nam with 4.0 software. The trunks are copper loop trunks.

Assign the trunk to a hunt group, Sequential Mode, Hunt Delay 1,Overflow Q Time 15, Overflow to the DN of the Voice mail.
Then setup a mailbox with the same number as the Hunt Group (eg290), Ext same as Hunt Group (eg290) That works for me on a CICS 4 and Nam 4.1

I'm pretty sure the NAM 4.x has "message line". Create the mailbox and put the line in the message line field of the mailbox. I don't remember whether the has to be answered by the NAM AA or not... experiment.

Hi Marv
I cant find the message line field for the mailbox on my Nam. Where could it be? thanks

After checking the NAM 4.0 manual it would seem this version does not have the message line capability.

Try Bob3470's idea.
