I have a customer who has a MICS using M-7310 phones and is starting to change them out to the T series phones. I have started to change out the M series phones with T-7316E. I know on the 7316 the line positions start on the 3rd button down from the top and the heading, show, back and next keys are also on the 3rd and 4th button positions. But on the E series phones they should be on the 1st and 2nd keys and the lines appearances should also start on the 1st button. But when I try to assign a line to the 1st button it won’t let me the and the heading, show, back and next keys in programming are on the 3rd and 4th buttons.

Something else that I can’t figure out is on the M series station I have no problem programming a caller id button but on the T series stations won’t allow me to program a caller ID key.

Any ideas?

Edited to correct subject line.

Sounds like the 7316's are really just that and not the "E" version.....OR it's very old software?

There's no reason why you can't program F811 on either model unless you're trying to put it where you can't. ie: I/C, Ans Dn, Hunt Group, Line button places which have priority.

The software could be the issue. The phones are definitely e's. I was trying program the CID button as the 1st BLF key on the left row. I had also tried to program it on the key above the intercom key. No luck on and soft key. Im stumped about the CID key it worked on the M phones but not the T phones.

Now that I’m thinking about the hands free key on the e phones didn’t work either. The hands free key was in the same place it would be on a 7316. Your most likely correct about the software.
I’ll check sw version on my next trip out.

Thanks for the info.

Do a F*0 to see what's where you wanted to place it to see if it is indeed a priority key.

when i did a F*0 the button came up as DND i erased the button and tried to F*3 F811 still no luck on the e phones only on the m phones.

You're sure you did:
- F*3
- Press button desired
- Press "Feature"
- 811
????

It doesn't make sense that you can't do it. You've got me stumped....

For kicks & giggles try programming it as another feature code NOT ALREADY USED on that phone. Maybe there's a problem with the key pad, or try another T7316e.

If your software is real old, it will treat your 7316E's as 7310's. But as MooreTel stated, that should have no bearing on your ability to program a button.

The next time I visit the site I'll erase all the buttons on one station and then reprogram the buttons and see what happens.

Thanks for the advice
