Was the Northcom 1A3 PbX made by Nortel?
No, it was made by LG. It wasn't a PBX, it was just a small, economical key system.
I have a 70 year old dentist client who is having problems with his A13 key system. Some of the phones don't work. He expects to die soon, so he doesn't want to buy a new system. As a self-supporting phone tech, what would you do for him?
I know the A13 uses two pairs of wire, so installing a Partner system is one possibility. Another is to install plain old two-line phones. What do you think of these options? Any other suggestions?
I am betting he will out live the 1A3 system. It is junk. I have not seen parts for 10 years plus. If I were you I would get him to buy some cheap 2 line phones if he does not expect or need any system type feature.
My opinion anyway
It will support not only 1A3 phones, but also TIE Econo-Key sets. There are probably some available on the secondary market.
I would sell him a re-furbed partner or other small key system so he can keep phone system features
