Hello
I have 3 BCM400's networked together with VoIP. All have MCDN enabled. Had Centralized VM working, lost the BCM with the VM system. Can I/C dial site to site, and transfer calls site to site. When a remote site rings out to VM, the VM system reports cannot find mailbox for 3299 (the main DN of the VM system), and the user gets GD box. Any one have any ideas?

Thank you in advance.

We lost the HDD in the BCM running CP for centralized voice mail. Starting with a default image, we patched the image and lost all our programming. The CP on the default image was set to 3 digits. By restoring the CP backup file from one of the other sites, we were able to get it to 4 digit dialing. It works locally, but anyone offsite ringing out or dialing the main number of the VM system (3299) gets only the GD mailbox. CP event viewer reports cannot find mailbox for 3299.

Hi,
I have seen this problem in site to site routing before. Check the digits the Callpilot is receiving (you can trace with BCM Monior) It may be that a steering code (or lack of it) is confusing the call information. If that is it, you must adjust the stripped/inserted digits in routing.
Good Luck,
Ed

Thank you for that lead Ed. It would be lack of a steering code, I imagine. I will look under Call Routing->Routes and ->Destination Codes

We are not using a steering digit. The lead digits of the vm main dn are 32, the same as the destination code already on the BCM with the voicemail. Does the VM main DN need a target line assigned to it? It seems like it should. My callpilot event log reports Callpilot cannot find mailbox for 3299 whenever a remote user dials into 3299. It's not passing the Calling Number ID for some reason.

Can anyone help me figure out what digits are being passed to Callpilot on a call coming back over a wan via a voip trunk from a remote system? Where would I look in BCM Monitor to find out? The Callpilot event log entry is: cannot find mailbox for 3299 (this is the main dn of the VM system)

With the BCM Monitor, you can look in voice ports and see the channel status and information. You can also use the RPT section . I use the UIP as well it depends on what the system is using and how it is configured. You can PM me if you wish, if this system is on a public IP or has VPN access I can try and help more.
