Hello Everyone,
I have a Customer upgrading a old 8-24 with 100+ users and 12 Analog Trunks to a new 0x32 with PRI. I have turned up 50+ PRIs before. I have never had a customer demand that they not have to dial the 9 proir to the number. I have always just told them that it was required. This customer had Line Pool A access button programed on each phone and does not want to adjust to dialing the 9. I am trying to think of a way to insert the 9 but I figure someone else has probably already faced this issue and can save me some time.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

You can set a speed dial button that dials 9 and label it "LINE OUT"

Marv,
Thanks that is a great idea. I am not sure what software level the customer has purchased yet. ( I am doing this the reprogramming as a Sub.) If it is 7.1 I should be able to setup a second dialtone which will end up being the first for them to hear.

I really appreciate your advise.

FYI, this can be accomplished by routing and destination codes, just in case you find a customer that wont accept the line out button either (which admittedly, happens 2 out of 100 times) You would also need to set the phones to a line pool when a phone goes off hook instead of the intercom.

Tell them that's the way the damn system works with PRI. If they don't like it, switch them back to COTs. You can setup a prime line to intercom and then set them up to an external hotline to the number 9. They then pickup the phone and are ready to dial out. If they want to dial an internal number, then they have to push the INT button before picking up the phone. If you turn on pre-dial they dial what ever number they want first, then pick the phone up and it dials the number for them. That's the beauty of routing. 9 tells the system to use the PRI.

maybe you can set up destination code of (1 any)
delete none and insert none in the routing.
You may have to change the park prefix from 1 to something els.
worth a shot........

I think these are your only choices as mentioned above:

-Press Intercom then 9 and dial your #

-Program a button to dial 9 - this will save pressing Intercom then 9
Press the button then dial your number.

-Program Auto Dial (F*82)- this will save pressing Intercom.
Dial 9 and #

-Program a new Dest code of 8 and make it use a new route, make that route grab PRI same as existing route.
Program on set Hotline, External, pause, 8
Lift handset or use same way as Auto Dial and just start dialing your # from key pad.
