MICS 7.0 XC. Among other things a 10 line hunt group on a T1. Twice a day forwarded on the carriers code (x72/73). Every line has the ability to be call forwarded individually. The carriers tech says that this is inherent in their system. If you want forwarding on any line you get all.Am trying to get them to let me talk to an engineer. Anyway, when the lead number is forwarded almost always the second line is forwarded and sometimes the third. On unforwarding the lead number, the others do not generally get unforwarded. The customer has never heard crosstalk on these lines. Tests show no discernable dialling or voice crosstalk. The first two lines have been put on separate trunk cards, and on separate bundles on a 200' tie cable. The problem of course, before we identified this, is that the customer unforwards his lead number and then takes a while to realize that they are still not getting many calls. Any ideas ?
Assuming that the 2nd and 3rd lines have different numbers you could call those numbers and see where they ring.

"10 line hunt group on a T1"

What in the world is that?

Do you have a T1 or POT's lines?
Or is this one of those silly carriers converting T1 to POTs at the site?.

On Normal POTS
Forward only the main 1st line then ALL calls one at a time will forward however I find if 2 calls come in at exact same time then second caller will hit the original site on line 2 , this is why I always suggest that people forward lines 1 and 2. And cancel both when needed.

Not sure what cross talk has to do with this.

yes, each line has its own number. And I dial them seperately to see what is happening.

Yea I have a 24 line T1 converted to POTS. With several tenants and single lines. But this one 10 line hunt group is the only one acting out. We forward the main line and the next two lines forward also. When the main line is unforwarded they stay until manually unforwarded. The crosstalk meaning is generic, that something on line one influences the others. We have actually listened in on line 2, while 1 was being forwarded and heard nothing. But line 2 ends up forwarded. Going to a PRI would be nice, I am maxed out and need the fiber slots.

When you forward line 1 did you prove the other lines forward as well?
i.e. call the actual line #'s for lines 2 and 3 and not the main line 1?.

Also what is the process to forward and forward?

Going to a PRi could be problematic in sorting out who can call from which channel and what calls could come in on what channel.

Maybe your terms are mixed up. Crosstalk is hearing one conversation on a line that is actually taking place on another line, it has NOTHING to do with forwarding.

Do you have crosstalk?

If this forwarding and unforwarding is done by the carrier, NOT by your local box and probably not, then you need to talk to the switch staff at your carrier.

I don't know who your carrier is, AT&T, Verizon, local CLEC like Telepacific or Paetec or such, but you need to get past the business office and talk to the person at the switch. Start a trouble ticket and go from there.
