I'm looking to add VM to the Option 11 in our office. The integrated MM would be ideal, but I understand the serial numbers have to match the processor, so I can't just pick one up. Someone gave me an NT6P08, but I don't know if that is a compatible product. Does anyone have details on that, or external VM products that you might have had luck with? We swapped the O11 in to upgrade from an SL-1 which had a Repartee external VM (PC Based). I would prefer NOT to have a PC-based solution (or at least not WinDoze). Any thoughts? We have 6 incoming lines and 15 or so extensions.

With that few lines and extensions I can't imagine going to an Option 11.

You could have done a used Nortel CICS with most any of the nortel VMs and had no problems, phones are sooo cheap now that Avaya bought NT.

Oh, this is indeed overkill, but we had the trusty SL-1 for many years, so the upgrade to the O11 allowed us to keep all the desk phones (mostly 2616s and 2317s). All I had to replace was attendant consoles with 2250s, because we still had the QCW4s. I could get by with a much smaller system, but that wouldn't have the "cool" factor. The other detail that went into the decision was that the O11 was a trade-in from a customer so I didn't have to put much into it, and we have a second location in which I would eventually like to install a Mini Carrier Remote.

Check e-bay, they always have Option 11 stuff up. Just buy the whole system, replace your ssc card with the new one and add the mail. May need to get your vendor to reload the new ssc card with your database.

Perhaps I am laboring under a misconception here. It was my understanding that the software daughterboard has a serial number which has to match that of the MM. Ergo, if I put my software DB and security button on the new SSC, won't I have the same problem with MM not working? If I use the new (used from eBay) Daughterboard, I have to be really careful about what I'm getting. Most eBay sellers don't know enough about the product they are selling to help me know if any system I potentially buy has the proper number of TN's, DSETs, Agents, etc. If I am wrong about how the serial numbers have to match up, please let me know.

I'm not worried about loading the database, I still have a cable hanging around for that. Haven't done it in a few years, but I'm sure I can make it work.

The Sys ID number is on the button security device on the SSC card. I think MJ was suggesting getting a a complete Option 11 with MMail and load your database to it...serial numbers would be fine that way as long as you have enough TNS and the correct packages.

That's what I Basically thought...but finding something out there with compatible packages and system limits (compatible to the system I have, that is) could be a challenge. Is the NT6R16AA 4 Port Mail Card compatible? What document do I need to determine the dependencies and if additional licensing/keycodes are needed for that card?
