I recently bought a meridian 3x8 system to replace the 1a2 system I have at home. Some websites show the t7316 as compatible with the 3x8 dr1 and dr5.1, some say only the 5.1. Can someone shed some light on this for me ? I really want to use those phones and not the old m version ones.

Thank you.

Is there any way by looking at the ksu itself what version it is (without a phone connected)

Your post says you want to use the T7316 phone. You did not say the T7316e phone. These phones should work on the DR5 but will not give you full function of the "e" phone. I will go out on a limb and say it will probably also work on the DR1 but still not with the added "e" functions. To get the added T7316e functions you need 6.1 software and I think the max s/w for the 3x8 is DR5 (5.1).
Someone will correct that if I am wrong.

And I do not think there is any label.
Probably have to go into the phone Admin to get s/w level.

If the writing on the KSU is black, it's a DR1. T7316 will work on DR1, doubt that the added functions of the "E" model would though.

Yes I think your right, my post incomplete as cell phone but was trying to say 5.1 I think allows for set appearance on the top 3 keys each side.
They act like M7310's otherwise.

I do think the NT # will yield a software level though since its built in.
Post it if need.
