First time I have seen this customer - they have a MICS with a Call Pilot.
They only have 1 phone that the lines appear and ring on.
They have 3 other phones that the lines Ring Only on.
All other phones have NO lines assigned to them.

ALL phones have FNA to VM at 6 rings.
DRT is set at 6 rings.
Transfer callback is set at 6 rings.

AA is set at 3 rings to answer lines.

Right now - all works OK.
But they wanted to change the AA to answer at 5 rings so they have more time to answer calls.

OK - just change the rings to 5 and all the extensions are still at 6.
Now the problem.

When it is changed to answer at 5 rings, the Gen Del Mail Box answers at 3 rings.
The GD is assigned to x322 and this ext has all the lines Appear & Ring on the phone.
It still has FNA at 6 rings.
If I change the AA back to answer on 3 rings then all is good.

I went through EVERY extension to see if by chance some un-used ext had been set for FNA to 3.
I checked every ext all the way up into the 700's - not a one.

Since I don't know this customer - trying to think of everything, I checked out the software.
MICS is at 7.0 version on the Card. The software code says DE
The Call pilot came up as CP 1.5.32.01

Does anyone have any ideas for this problem?
Is there any Compatibility with MICS 7.0 with a CP-100 at 1.5.32.01 ?
Is there problems with that old of CP software?

Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Jim

Did you try rebooting the Call Pilot? Is the Power Supply still the old model?
Yes, Both the Norstar and the Call Pilot have been rebooted.

If other weird things were happening - I would have thought about the power supply right away..
But for this one, I totally forgot to check the power supply. - Thanks for the reminder.
-Yes the Callpilot needs to be at 3.0 or up to be compatible with 7.0 and up.
-1.5 was buggy and quickly replaced with 2.0. or 2.1

Things I would try..
Make Line 001 Private to reception set
Make Prime Set = None, then test calls for 5 rings

Then re-program Line 001 to the other 3 sets.

Upgrade Callpilot to 3.1
If it still happens on the upgrade then REINSTALL as it would then be determined as a programming bug.

Jim did you look at the hunt groups and services programming? Maybe a hunt group with the lines in it or a service setting?
Curlycord: Good things to try - Thanks.
I will pass that on to the Tech in charge and see if they will test for that.
I was asked to come in for help (not my customer) since they could not think of anything else to do.
But I agree with you - I think the version of Call Pilot is the problem.

John 807: I did check out the Services - none were programmed - and if they were it would not wait until 3 rings, services should pick up right away.
BUT no I did not check out the Hunt Group for a line being programmed. Never tried that scenario - so I will have to test it. Thanks

I know - me too.

As I said in my last post - This is not my customer. A friend asked me to help out.
I passed the info on to him.
Unless he asks me to do more, I won't be back on site.
I wanted to give him a couple weeks to do something.
But I have this feeling that they will just live with 3 rings on the AA.

I will inquire and will post if he has done anything more.

Untill then, we are all in suspense.
Roger that!
