I have a BCM 450 R6 that I take care of, although I didn't install or configure it. There are two DSM32 cards in the main cabinet. In EM I can see that both cards have all switches on. There are jumpers connected to phones on the first 16 ports of each card, nothing on the last 16 ports. If I connect a digital phone to port 17 for example, I get nothing. Shouldn't the DSM32 be putting out connections for 32 phones?

Thank you.

1. If you see 2 amp connections then that would mean 16 ports on each so you need to fire up port 1 to 16 on both amps, 17 and up are not used on both amps.
2. Very strange a tech/shyster would start/sell another MBM when there is plenty of ports left on the 1st one.

You can always refer to the wiring diagram for any Nortel product, they are on the BCM itself via the main page.

Would it matter if it was a DSM 32 or a DSM32+?

DSM 32 Module will run 32 Digital Station ports
DSM 32+ Module will run 32 Digital Station ports

Each have 2 Amphenol connections - each connection does 16 stations.- first 16 pairs each.

DSM 32 will take up 2 buses.
DSM 32+ will take up 1 bus unless you install it as single Density, then it takes up 2 buses.

BEST is a 32+ module installed as Double Density.

That all makes sense. There are 32 extensions. I saw the two amphenols and didn't look at the wiring chart to see it is 16 ports, each. My bad.

Thanks.
