I have a panasonic kx-tx624 phone system, and recently purchased a tvs50 voicemail system for my home. I have searched the boards and been doing research for a few days before posting the following question:

I have 2 lines, (co1, co2). All I would like is for the voicemail system to pickup after 5 rings on either line. I never change out of day mode, I really don't use the system for anything other than making and sending calls, and intercoms between the rooms. Basically what I want is voicemail that picks up and says "hello..blah blah...for frank press 1, mike 2, andy 3, etc..."

ANY and all help is greatly appreciated!

This shoudl work fine. I have the same general setup with the 624 and TVS-50. I only have 1 line, but it picks up after 5 rings and gives the caller the option to press 1 for mom, 2 for dad or 3 for the kids to leave a message.

Yes, that is exactly what I want. I guess I should further my original question to clarify that "how" is what I need to know [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com] Thanks!

well one thing we need to know is do you have a pc. if so then great all you need is a serial cable with a null modem adpter
or a null modem cable
what you want to do is setup up what is called a custom menu this is not the easest thing to do without a pc but can be done post back and let us know.you can setup using the dip switches to aa mode but custom is much more controlled

Yes, I do have a pc and null cable, and have connected to the tvs just fine. I set up 4 mailboxes and everything appears to be right.

Where I get into problems is where to set the number of rings. Is it done through the 624 or through the tvs50? I guess I'm kinda lost as to where to go now. I've never set one up before, but I am very quick to learn and run the entire IT department where I work, so hopefully I can follow all the advice and help I get [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]

Just for the record, everything works flawlessly, EXCEPT that for some reason, my phone system only allows me to set 411-413 to 5, 10, or 15 seconds. In order to get 5 rings I had to add a 10 seconds delay on the TVS itself - which results in me waiting 10 seconds before i can log into voicemail to check messages. It is livable, but is that something software can fix? I have Y581.

15 Secs. translates to about 3 rings.
In order to have more of a delay, 4 or 5 rings
you need to do exactly what you did.
With the TA 624 those are your only choices. [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]
