I have a KX-TEA308 which appears in all other respects to be working perfectly, except for operation of TRS/COS.

I have assigned "Denied Codes", and there are no "Exception Codes". The "Denied Codes" use wild cards (though I've tested with complete numbers), for example 0xxxxxxxxxx which ought to bar all calls except local ones. The COS has been assigned to extensions, yet those extensions can still call any number.

Any ideas what may be wrong?

I'm not familiar with the U.K. Panasonic products but what you are describing sounds similar to U.S. Panasonic products so hopefully this helps. --COS settings, choose a COS (2?) and in that COS make the TRS level 2 for day/lunch/break/night.--Put the restricted exts in that COS. In TRS, I only put one digit under each entry for level two, so if you want to bar any call starting with 0, just enter a 0. Good luck!!

94astro - thanks for your advice. What you describe is just what I've done - I've also tried using different COS levels, but the problem still is there! Any thoughts on why would be most welcome!

The kx-tea 308 system uses codes 601,602,603 for cos day, night, lunch. per extension

Codes in 302 = class 2, 303 = class 3, 304 = class 4, 305 = class 5. enter 0xxxxxxxxxx to stop 0 being dialed as first digit etc...

cos 1
No restriction.

cos 2
20 denied codes programmed in [302].

cos 3
40 denied codes programmed in [302] and [303].

cos 4
60 denied codes programmed in [302] through [304].

cos 5
80 denied codes programmed in [302] through [305].

Exception codes are 306. codes 01 to 20 are for class 2-5, 21 to 40 class 2-4, codes 41 to 60 class 2 and 3 codes in 61 to 80 are for class 2 only

Code 309 = emergency numbers
code 301 = trs for speed dials

If you have the pc programming tool it makes it easier to see what is set up.

S.N.C. - no, I'm not the end user, and I will try calling tech support. OBT (hi there! from the northern end of the island!) Thanks too for your advice - I set up the codes initially using the pc programming tool, which as you say is very easy. I thought there might be a bug in the software, so I tried programming from a PT as you describe - still no luck! At least your post confirms I'm not being completly stupid, so I'll call Panasonic and see if they can help.

94astro and obt - thanks for giving helpful advice. Turned out to be values in Host PBX Access Codes rather than anything to do with COS settings. (Code 403).
