I have a TVA-50 APT integrated to a 824 and set up as an answering machine. The TVA-50 grabs unanswered calls, plays the greeting, takes the message, and lights the extension MW lights. All is good. I can program the TVA-50 over the network with the Programming Console software.

I added an email address to the group mailbox so any messages left after hours would notify a blackberry. Here's the problem. The messages are on the phones but the email never gets sent. The internet provider is blocking port 25. How do I get past this and where are the settings for the SMTP server?

Have you tried calling the ISP to have them remove the blocking?

Try using G Mail for SMTP server. Google G Mail as SMTP server, you will get lots of info.
yon use ports other than 25. Use the test in the Maint tool to test your settings.

Incoming Mail (POP3) Server - requires SSL: your.isps.pop3.server.com
Use SSL: No
Port: 110
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - requires TLS: smtp.gmail.com (use authentication)
Use Authentication: Yes
Use STARTTLS: Yes (some clients call this SSL)
Port: 465 or 587
Account Name: your Gmail username (including '@gmail.com')
Email Address: your original isp address ([email protected])
Password: your Gmail password
