I have an office setup with 20 phones connected to a NCP500. We are looking at setting up 2 more offices. Instead of putting in two more NCP500 could I use FreeSwitch and than tie the system together to work?

You could connect them using sip trunks and extensions from the ncp to the freeswitch and they will act as tie line.
Pick up trunk group for the other systems sip extension and dial internaly

if you put ncps in all sites you can setup the systems to act as one system

Why is it so many people want to build a business around and on something with the word FREE in it.
Then instead of running their business and making money doing what they are experts at, spend inordinate amounts of time playing with some weird telecom setup that no one supports, just to save $100- 150 month.
