Hi folks,

Going to be installing the doorphone soon.
Need a little help with regards to wiring it up:

I do not have a pqjs1t30za-e module indicated on the manual which is to be wired up from the power module in line to the modular jack on the door phone card.

Hopefully I do not require the module. If not can someone help out with the pin polarity?-

Pins 3 and 4 from the power module goto which pins respectively on the doorphone card?

Cheers!

To add, just one doorphone, no opener.

You don't say which system. I don't recognize that doorphone model, but if it's like the KX-T30865 which works on many Pan systems, it requires only one pair. The other stuff you mention would only be necessary to drive a door opener. Look carefully at your manuals, and it should be clear. All you should need is the doorphone adaptor and the doorphone. Polarity (T/R) doesn't matter. Hope this gives some cheer. :toast:

The newer model door phones (high end ) use a power supply and a module at the MDF. They are polarity sensitive. The pin outs are in the book of whatever system you are using.

Hi TAC Bob.
Systems in the subject line:
(TA824 w 82461 door phone card).

Hi brokeda,
Yes the pin outs are in the book but not for the wire that goes from the pqjs1t30za-e module to the door phone modular jack. I do not have the pqjs1t30za-e module, it was not supplied. Page 7 on the KX-T7775 manual is the one I am referring to.

All the pqjs1t30za-e module looks like is a splice block into a standard 4 wire jack which plugs into one port on the doorphone card. This is my issue, I do not know where pins 1 and 2 on the pqjs1t30za-e link to the pins on the modular jack on the doorphone.

That part number is a 2 position modular surface mount jack. The cord comes in the box. The cord has the right polarity. You can use page 5 if only 1 door phone.
the jack on the power module plugs into the door phone card. The screws go to the door box speaker.

It's kind of a weird setup. i got hung up several times with the polarity issue as I would make a short custom line cord, then no workee.
These also have a connection to make the house door bell work at the same time.

Yeah I feel a fool asking lol, but I wanted to make sure.
Can I break something if I get it wrong?
All I need to know is ewith 1x door phone, pins 2 and 3 go to which pins on port 1 on the door phone?

Phone cord goes from power module to door phone card. Screws on power module got to speakerbox at door.

Don't need to worry about pins, it just plugs in.
Unless you have two door phones.

Excellent thank you!

I think I understand now:

Default pins for doorphone 1 to plug into port 1 on the doorphone is the center pins 3 and 4. If you have two door phones you need the adapter which will split second doorphone to pins 2 and 5.

Sorry if I have appeared dumb! - Not too keen on the panasonic instructions!
