Hi

we have a Panasonic A616 with 2 pstn lines (in co3 and co4 (co1 and co2 have nothing connected))

Randomly, co2 will start ringing constantly - 1 continuous ring that just doesn't stop.

we end up picking up the line then leaving it off the hook! At 3 in the morning, this can get a little annoying!

We tried moving the line from co3 to Co2 but it didnt work and just kept ringing.

Anyone ever seen it?

sounds like your system is on the way out!

CO 2 is not in use because? Maybe damaged by a lightning strike and periphial parts are starting to fail now. Where did you get the system and what is it's history.
