Hello, I have recently installed a new KX-TA824 in which I wanted to add 3 KX-TD7896 cordless phones to. Out of the box, I have the base unit plugged into port 109, I get a solid RUN light. The port has been programmed for "cordless connected" and have tried cordless "not connected" both, but in any case the handset says "no signal" even if I'm 1-2 feet from base unit. If I toggle to PBX setup or Base setup on the handset I just get 3 error beeps. This is driving me nuts. I know I'm missing something stupid, but I can't find it. Please help anyone, as the customer is getting a little hacked. Thanks, KD

Where you bought it should have Tech Support.
It's all in the manuals. There are 4.
Installation, Programming, Features, and Programming.

Forget cordless, it's the same as a PT.
If a PT hard phone works on the port the the 7896 will. Switch would be on PBX.

This might be obvious, but is the cordless set that you are using the one hardcoded to the base?. Since you have 3 of them, could you have mixed the bases and phone sets?

Thank you for your reply. I am ashamed to admit it in public, but I had gotten the handsets and bases mixed up, so I was trying to make a phone work on the wrong base unit. Duh! I do appreciate your quick response though.
