I have a KX-TD1232/v5 w/CID card and KX-TD171. CID works fine except on the first port of the 171 which is programmed for CID. Same issue on port 2.
If I have a KX-T7235 set connected to the port in question and a SLT connected to the XDP port, the SLT does not receive CID as the manual implies that it should. If I disconnect the KX-T7235 and connect the SLT to the analog pair CID works fine on the SLT. XDP ring is on, on the KX-T7235 and the connected SLT does ring on incomming calls.
Anyone have any ideas on this?
Turn xdp off and then turn on parallel ext ring on does cid work that way?
ok so it doesn't work thats clear whats wrong with wiring a separate analog ext that does not have a digital phone attached on it to fill your analog caller id needs ?
Nothing wrong with that except the Ext in question is an OPX on the end of a 150' 2 Pr berried cable run so there's no spare cable available. I kind of wanted to get the port working as it should.
I did try another set and same problem. I don't have another 171 module to try and don't think it's bad because it does work on the analog pair.
Does the 171 have issues with long cable runs? There doesn't seem to be any grounds on the cable and the protectors have been lifted as a test.
What does using different ext have to do with how many pairs of wire a remote location has? lift whats on the first pair of that cable now and cross connect the new ext that you have created for analog caller id end of story badda bing badda boom!!!
I had a TD1232D in my house and I was never able to get CID to work on an analog station port behind a 171 that was shared with a digital station. I had to sacrifice a complete station port in order to get it to work. I will say that I had -3 software at the time.
I think the key to this issue is it does not ask in windows version for a first or second section of the jack it asks for port 1 or 2 so it must take all of 2B+D of that port two deliver cid to SLT.
