Hi, I just encountered an old EASA 616 system that the homeowner inherited from the previous owners, and now they just moved in after a remodel. The unit exhibits a clicking noise (sounds like a mechanical relay) when a call cames in (i.e., when phones are ringing). Anyone have any suggestions as to what might be the problem?

TIA!

It's OLD

It does have relays. Do the phones ring?

It's clicking because it's ringing. That's what the 616 does

It's kind of like an old Model-T. They were noisy as hell. I'm surprised they don't leak oil too. My 616 is 20 years old this year. I love the old KXT stuff. Since we are on this subject. Are they still making the 824 and if not, what is replacing it with??

Last time I checked, the 824 is still made. I think they are either going to open up the TDA-50g to general distribution (via a web test) or something like it.

My loaner 824 is...well, on loan :-)
