Initializing OS process timeout values
Calculating existing memory checksums
Allocating prot/local dbpassed
RAM block 1 test, passed
Clearing "zerovars" RAM
Starting system initialization

RAM block 0 test, passed

it will then keep repeating this cycle

Does it have any extra cards (VM,Station,CO) in it? If so try removing them all and see if it comes up. If that doesn't work you may try the default dipswitch and the battery switch. It sounds like the symptoms of a bad battery but could be a card as well.

I just found this old discussion on it , looks like I\'ll need to order in some batteries since I just picked up a customer with 12 of these scattered over 6 counties

I haven't tested this battery yet Bill Im just assuming that's the issue

this is a spare KSU that I was using to practice programing on it was working I shut it down for a couple of weeks and now it wont come up

in addition to this one I have a customer that lost all programing after a extended power outage

If you upgraded the software in your spare KSU flip the switch to go back to the older copy and see if it will boot. Might just have a corrupt upgrade copy.

Skip, I Had several systems that had bad batteries on them and I found these on the net

https://www.keyelco.com/pdfs/M55p19.pdf

I wanted the steel holder as show in figure 1. I called the company and they sent me 10 of them for free to see if they would work. Other than having to trim the post a little bit they work great and make battery changes super easy. have since ordered 25 more just to have on hand.

Which numbered item did you use? I don't know why they don't come this way to begin with. In my opinion it pretty dumb to hard connect batteries everyone knows they wear out in time.

I used Cat Number 2301. like I said the tabe are a tab bit wide but I just trimmed them with me snips and soldered them in. Work great.. I agree they should have just used something like that in production.
