Has anyone heard about Retrobrite? It is a home made solution of Hydrogen Peroxide, Oxyclean and requires 24 hours of Ultra Violet light.

Be interested to know the formula. Worth trying out.

As we refurb phones and PC equipment, we looked into this a few years ago....or a similar variant but I remember the Hydrogen Peroxide. We passed on it beacuse the amounts we needed made it into a nasty chemical nightmare... look at the percent of the Hydrogen Peroxide solution you need to use... I remember it was much higher than waht you would find at home.

Well, I tried it. I used the common 3% drug store peroxide. I only did it overnight and used a SAD bulb. The one on the right was originally darker than the one on the left and even had spots with darker blotches.

After looking into this stuff a little further, I think I'd better post this message:
WARNING - USE ONLY AT Y0UR OWN RISK!
Telsetrepair is correct. Apparently, this concoction can be quite serious if you get it into your eyes so please wash your hands often or wear rubber gloves when using this stuff. If it is prepared with a stronger peroxide solution it can be very hazardous.

Note trying to be a jerk, but how are you disposing of the left over and used solution?

Seems this stuff could be defined as hazardous waste to me and not something you'd want to just pour down a drain.
