Im trying to drop a specific number that someone keeps calling in on from the outside.

I've tried following these threads but haven't got anywhere:

https://www.sundance-communications.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=4;t=000681;p=1

https://www.sundance-communications.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=4;t=003640;p=0

https://www.sundance-communications.com/forum/ultimatebb.php?/ubb/get_topic/f/4/t/000967/p/1.html

So my config shows as this currently:
CO Trunk Group 92002
Day Ring-In Type: Call Routing Table 3
Night Ring-In Type: Call Routing Table 2

Call Routing Tables:

CRT 3:
Pattern: 9169999999 Single 2526 (the 99999999 part is just a placeholder for the number i want to block)
Pattern: + Call Routing Table 1

CRT 1: Normal phone numbers (ones customer dial) Single 2506 (day att. app)

CRT 2: Normal phone numbers (ones customer dial) Single 2507 (night att. app)

My thoughts are in this config... every call comes into the trunk (customer dials one of our numbers), gets directed to the CRT 3, if number matches the Pattern 9169999999 then it gets sent to app 2526 (hold music), if it doesn't match the pattern, then the + sends it to CRT 1, which is our normal incoming CRT (before i started trying to block this number).

In this config though, I put my cell phone number into the Patter in CRT 3, but when i call one of our numbers, i get right through no problem (straight to our day att. like normal).

What am i doing wrong? I'd like to have this number get redirected to hold music forever until the caller gets tired and hangs up...

Thanks guys!

UPDATE:

I think i've narrowed down my problem a bit (maybe!)

When i change my CO Trunk Group 92002 to Day Ring-In Type of Call Routing Table 500 (doesn't exist), calls hang for a second then gets dropped (good!).

So i know the CRT is working fine (at least it sending calls to places like expected)

So now I'm assuming my problem is my CRT 3 cannot read my cell phone's Caller ID when it comes in... therefore my number doesn't match the Pattern in my CRT3, so the + sends it over to CRT1 and handles it normally.

When i call my own extension from my cell phone, I can clearly see my caller ID pop up (916-999-9999)... so why is my CRT not reading my incoming number and sending it to my hold music application?

Thanks for the assistance guys!

Did you change Table 3 Call Routing Key from the default of Trunk Number to Outside Party Number?

How do you intend to keep the caller listening to music? Eventually, it's going to recall to somewhere.

Hello DND! Thanks for the response.

I read in one of the other posts about the CRT Key... but am completely unsure of what that means or is (a google search didn't yield much so i'm guessing its Inter-Tel related?)

Right now the Application they will get routed into has a recall of itself... so after the timeout the music just keeps playing. Please let me know if my logic on this is incorrect.

Thanks again for bearing with me... i'm a Sys Admin who's been tasked with this phone system and don't know a ton about it! Thanks!

Go to Table 3, click on Call Routing Key and select Outside Party Number from the drop down list.

Your logic is incorrect. You'll tie up a voice mail port for no reason. Send the call to a CRA that times out to hang up. If you want, record a greeting that says the number is no longer in service.

Thanks for the clarification DND. Glad to see you caught my error before i put it in place! Thanks!

I'm away from the office for the rest of the day... i'm going to try this out first thing in the morning and will report back my results.

Thanks

OK... I lied... remoted into the office just to get this taken care of! lol.

Anyways... so i found where i was supposed to change the Routing Key (I was 1 level too deep and needed to just click on the Call Routing Tables tab instead of going straight into Table 3). So i set Table 3 to be Outside Party Number...

I have that directed to a CRA that has nothing under Digit Translation except Timeout Hang Up as the last option. I have under Day Greeting and Night Greeting a Intermediate Paust (5 seconds)...

So now when i call in using my cell phone, i hear it pickup... waits 5 seconds, then i'm disconnected. Success! (I think! lol)

Can you review my steps taken to make sure it sounds like i did this correctly?

Thanks a ton DND! Your the man (or woman!?!?)!!!

Sounds like you're good to go. If you want to be 100% sure of the routing, insert Greeting 001 for testing. You should hear, "You've reached the Inter-Tel voice processing system..." before the call is dropped.

For those keeping score, I'm a guy.
