In form 12, you program the DSCONS on the same port as the Super Console 1000 (look in form 7 for the port #). If your console has a power plug on the back (newer style), you'll need the power supply for the serial port (and backlight)to function. If there's no power jack (older style) you obviously won't need power. Be sure to reset the console once you've programmed the DSCONS port for SMDR.
