I have two different customers that are having the same problem with their 22 button display sets in speaker phone mode used on a ds-2000 system. These two identical issues are about a year apart. The problem is that the incoming voice is being clipped but there is no apparent background noise. Is there a software upgrade that addressed this or a way to adjust the threshold?

I haven't heard of any problems that you described. However when the phone is idle and you have 'background music' turned on you will hear static or a popping noise, but I don't think that's what you mean. If that's not the case then I would first, try resetting the system, 2nd software upgrade and if all else fails replace the station card.

The older software versions in the 2. range were notorious for clipping. At the time engineering insisted clipping was not a problem. But after the newer software in the 3. range came out the clipping problem cleared up. If you have older software upgrade.

I don't have the software versions of the systems in my notes. I'll have to find out what they are. I put both systems in 2-3 years ago. I do have a copy of 03.22.00 that I could upgrade to.

I checked the rev. levels (02.11.00 and 02.05.00) so an upgrade is certainly in store. I noticed in the documentation that back-up and restore data is not compatible between the 02 and the 03 levels. On one of the systems the programming is somewhat complex. The records are not available so a complete “figure-out†and reprogram is necessary. Does anyone know of a way to either download or print a set of existing stored data? Or a methodical way to determine the current programmed functions?

unfortunately you wont be able to upgrade to 3.xx as there was a hardware change to get into the new software. the max 2.xx software is 2.11.05 for the old cpu. you'll need to swap out the cpu to get into the 3.xx software. also i have tried multiple times to extract data from a 2.xx machine to get a hard copy for reference, but i have had no luck in doing so.

It has been awhile but I think the 2.11.05 did fix the clipping problem in the phones.
You can down load the data base to a flash card and than upload when the update is complete. The flash card is the only way to down load and save data on the older CPU's using 2. software. Flash card NEC part number 85880. 16 sites can be stored on it.
Hope this helps Dan S

The backup card is different than the backup card the backup card holds 16 backups. The upgrade card is reuseable and can be sent to NEC to be updated when a new release is announced
