If you do not know the IP Address of your LX voicemail you can connect to it with Hyperterminal using the serial port on the front of the card. You will need to use a null modem serial cable (same cable used for co-sessions on the Elitemail DOS product).

You will have to set Hyperterminal to 38400, 8,N,1 and log into the voicemail using the same user-name and password as PUTTY.

You can then access the config menu after stopping the voice server to look up the assigned IP.


As far as servicing the system yourself, as long as you are aware that this will void your warranty, and you will have to pay for any labor/parts to reapir any damage you may cause, then you are free to do as you wish. It's your system, you are legally allowed access to all programming and passwords. Your vendor cannot keep this info from you.
