Has anyone had any experience using a Commswitch or other fax sharing switch on a x16? Customer wants voice calls hunting from a stand alone line to ring calls on designated extensions on the line that will be shared with fax.

With all the variables involved, I am amazed when any voice and data technology works like it is supposed to.

I don't see any problem with it. Shouldn't be any different than any other system.

Be careful about the CO line "in-use" sensing feature on the X16. The line sharing device might not put out proper voltages in order for this to work. If the voltage is too low, the X16 may sense the line as being in use and keep the line lit on the stations.

I received an email from Paul of XBlue saying that they had tested the Stick and Commswitch with the X16 and it worked without any problems.

Good to hear!

It's rare that anyone posts the final conclusions, results, and/or fixes.

Thank you.

The funny thing about this job was that they had DSL on that line that was to be shared and there were no spare pairs to have the dsl router and and the fax go back to demarc on separate pairs. The DSL is not supposed to go through the Commswitch and the customer did not want to spend the money to run another 4 pair back to demarc. He said they would do without the XXXXXXXX fax because the only faxes they got were spam anyway. So I never did try out the Commswitch. I now have one in stock that another customer may someday need.
