I use Speedtest too but it does have its limitations.

I am using DSLReports Speed Test more and more as you can select your connection type and you can also configure the test. It also provides a letter grade for Bufferbloat, Speed, and Quality (aka packet loss/ re-transmit %).

DSLReports also has a nice Stream Test that is in real time and you can select what service you are using and the resolution
