Howdy,
I'm installing a new PRI on a version 7 MICS and we're replacing the customers loop start lines (and their 824) with our new cab. What's the basic gist of setting the thing up for outbound?
Thanks!

Welcome to the board There are a lot of things to set up for the PRI on the MICS. It would take a very long time to post it all in detail here on this forum. If you have the documentation for the system, I would suggest looking there. It has a whole section dedicated to nothing but the PRI set-up. It should be able to answer just about every question you have.

Rich is correct, start looking in the manuals. Just to get you in the right direction, you will need to setup Routes & Dest codes to dial out.

There ain't nothing "basic" about setting up PRI. It's fairly complicated (well...for some of us). Have you installed Nortel systems before?

Thanks,
I've installed lots of Norstars and maintained several with T1/PRI and know how to route the inbound DIDs, but this is my first PRI from scratch. The PRI is up and working and the D Channel is online and inbound is up.
It's just the outbound that seems a little cryptic and weird to me and was looking for some quick pointers. Services/Routing Service ?
Kind of reminds me of the Norstar toll restriction. Weird.

If you don't want to do Routing you can asign everybody access to PRI-A pool and let them dial 9 to get out. Otherwise: Service>Routing>Dest code: 9+any=rout 001(PRI-A). Create Rout 001 to use PRI-A. Do not asign any Access code to Pool A.

Thanks everybody! I set up routing 001 to PRI-A and then dest code 9 (after I had to delete some stuff so I could use the 9) to PRI-A and it works like a champ!
Thanks everyone for your help!
