I have a CallPilot 100 set up in a busy restaurant/hotel. When customers call in (CCR answers on "0"), they press "1" for restaurant reservations. Occasionally (more often than not) the customer hears "that extension is not available" and call is dumped back into the tree.
I'm guessing this might be an issue with too much traffic? Might an upgrade to a CP150 help?

Sounds like too much traffic to me.....they should count their blessings Only solution I know of is to have more extensions available to answer for reservations, which in that case is hard to do unless after "1", break it down again for something like " For reservations this week please dial "11", For later reservations please dial "12" " and have a 2nd extension attached to "12" working off another form if you know what I mean. CP150 would have same results I believe....other would know for sure.

I'm guessing the 150 would handle more traffic (4 ports vs. 2) ??? But, I don't want to ask the client to spend the $$$ if I'm not 100% sure that's the problem.

Path 1 is a transfer to front desk (221). The phone next to 221 (222) has an answer DN programmed in case someone is on 221 (there are typically two hostesses at the front desk). 221 has about 5 line appearances for the main # in addition to 4 IC's.
If I remember correctly, I also have a third phone programmed as an alternate extension so a third person can answer.

See if General Delivery is activated in F983 See if any of the phones involved have FNA or On Busy forwarded to vmails DN but have no mailbox behind that DN. Check alos to see if there is yet another set involved that you dont know about.

Danny: What version of CP-100 are you using.
You could have a DTMF problem somewhere: Telco, Phone sys, CP ??
Can you dial in, get the AA, then dial the extension 221 instead of just hitting a 1 ?? What exension do you get?
If you can dial the extension, then a quick get-a-round, instead of press 1 for this. Say, for this dial 221.
Not 100% sure, but I don't think traffic issues would give you "That ext is not avail."
Also - you are correct a CP-150 would have more channels avail ( IF it was a traffic issue)

You might be better off setting up a hunt group. It will handle more "traffic" as you can prevent calls from ever returning to the voice mail. With ANS DN the bestr you'll get is 12 rings before a recall. If it's really busy convince the customer to buy the CC keycode.
