Does anyone have recommendations on what amplifier to get for a KXTA 824? We were using an extremely old and now noworking AIphone rax system for station to station and paging. I cant seem to get the old aiphone amplifier (pg 10a)to work with the paging output from the KXTA 824. I am just going to order an amp for the kxta system and throw the old equipment out.

thanks

Pretty much any telecom paging amp, or any good brand of line operated amp. We use TOA, Bogen. You could also use Valcom distibuted paging, but you probably should throw in a V1094. John C. (Not Garand)

Thanks for the reply. I am going to add a little more info. I am on an offshore vessel. I already have 3 loudspeakers in place. I need to make sure that I order a compatible amplifier that will work with KXTA 824. I dont need any background music or any other fancy stuff. We will just use this for paging individuals on deck.

From personal experience TOA BG130 will work and is rated at 30 Watts. That's an older amp that may be out of production, but it will give you an idea of what's out there and what kind of levels you have from the 824. If you have the 824 manual, it will tell you what the page output level is. Then go to Bogen or TOA web site and find an appropriate amp. There are other excellent brands out there, so don't lock into my suggestion without looking around. I'm guessing the Aiphone speakers are either 25 or 70 volt constant voltage speakers. Any idea? rahdp, you might want to consider putting this same question in the Security, Alarms, and Paging area under the 'Telephone Services' section. John C. (Not Garand)
