I am a network engineer/deskside tech/jack of all trades & king of none. I am working for a small computer repair shop in Portsmouth Ohio and we have a client that needs me to add 3 new phones (Panasonic phones as well) to her existing PBX. I have a litte telecom experience, however, not much. I need to no what I need to do to add these phones. I was expecting to see a terminal/PC when I arrived to use to manipulate the system and add the phones. Instead I encountered simply this VB42050 cabinet with a card in it. The phones are in place and from what I can see the cable was run for all phones that this card can support (8). Please help as my boss REALLY wants me to get this done.
Thanks in advance for any and all help!

Dan, I'll try to be gentle. Proprietary system, password protected, factory trained only when in production, discontinued system. Any of these items mean that you probably will not get any help on the board. An authorized ex-dealer may contact you via PM, don't be surprised. The main problem here is, anytime technician passwords are involved, we don't provide the passwords. This forum is for end users to the extent that we can help by telling what to do, not how to do. Obviously the techs help each other with problems, but note that we talk about WHAT to do, not How to do it. John C.

Your eyes will most likely pop out of your head if you get the manual for this system and read it. Very bad JU JU!!! DBS is expert at complication.

What you need to do is cross connect the stations to what ports are available, if any.

phonemeister,
Thanks for the reply. Could you be a little more detailed when you say "cross connect the stations to what ports are available"? Thanks you very much!

He means,,,Look on the system port breakouts and cross connect the free ports to your station breakouts.

Connect 3 free phone ports (if available) to the ports coming from the 3 required phone placements.
