Hello. I ran file called download.exe from ivm subdirectory. Program responded "4 files successfully copied."
Now, the voice-mail program will not load completely. It gets 80 percent through load batch file, then bombs out with the "wrong smdr version error. This program loaded just fine before this accident. Any help in correcting this problem would be greatly appreciated.

This is an I-magen I would guess. I would try an reload the software as an upgrade.

Yes, this is an i-magen voice-mail.
Can not reload software. System looks for floppy disks which are not present, then fails installation.

Are you rebuilding a down ImaGen? If you are a file copy from the drive will not work. You need the install disks. All 14 of them smile or you will have no prompts. May be time to look at a EmaGen upgrade or a IPeX with a onboard EmaGen.

I am only trying to get this old system working again. What did this "download" file do? What does this "wrong smdr version" error mean? And, which four files did it copy over?
If I do need these 14 files(20 meg.) Where do I get them from? Should I contact telrad directly, or abandon the project, scrap the entire system and encourage a move over to something newer and more simple. This pbx cost approx $16K dollars in the day, and is hardly worth spending money to upgrade.

Telrad's migration path is second to none. Any digital phone or card or cabinet can be used with the latest IPeX processor. Yes some of the cards will need chip upgrades but that cost is very low.
What version software is in the system and what version software are you trying to load on the PC for Voicemail?
As for the 14 it's not files it is 14 disk of files, each disk has 100 +/- files on them.

I have to ask is 16K a lot or not, I cant get a read on you meaning. Most customers who spent 16K 10 years ago or 5 for that matter would be very pleased with a upgrade to the latest processor and new voicemail for a little a 4K. All this depends on system size and number of users.

I would never encourage people to continue to upgrade something this old. Most of this old technology is replaceable for pennies on the dollar of what it originally cost to purchase.
BTW, this whole system can be purchase second hand for approx. eight hundred dollars. Tomorrow, I will retrieve all software versions for current system.
So who do I contact about getting this old proprietary voice-mail software?
Thank you for you help.

I don't think you understand what SSPhones is telling you.

You can get all the new features and Voicemail by upgrading just the MPD card to an IPEX.
And change the sets as time goes on. Instead of dropping 16K at one time.

My customer are very happy that there orginal investment is safe. I have people with phones from 1980 with the new IP phones, Who else can do that

Why did somone mess around in the DOS anyway.
If you want the software disk I sure if you contact a local Telrad Dealer they can sell then to you. If you can't find a local Telrad dealer PM me with the Version of the system and I will sell them to you.
