System: Toshiba DK40i

Problem:
Unable to Call Forward with *72 CO Feature after programming "Flash" button.

Details:
I am not very familiar with Toshiba systems.
I programmed a FLASH button (Code 499) for several phones. Since programming the button, the phone will not recognize the * when dialing.
If you dial a phone number, no problem.
The client needs to transfer calls from the lines to a cell phone for the evenings.
Luckily I have one extension that does not have a FLASH key programmed. It is the only phone that can now tranfer calls out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you program the flash button where the speed dial button was. If you programmed over your speed dial button you will need to put your speed dial button back. I think it's code 497.

JBW is exactly correct, you must have a speed dial button on the phone if you want to use the * button directly off the dial pad.

If you have ten button phones and are short of buttons, you can also dial * # and then dial your * 7 2 as the Toshiba recognizes the sequence of * # and does not send it out over the dial tone but instead frees up the * button.

Your speed dial bins start with a * and * 7 2 and without a speed dial button on the phone you would be sending the number stored in system speed dial bin 72 so you have to dial * # and then your * and # keys are free to use as much as you want.

JBW's advice to put the speed dial button back on is the best way, and doing the * # is a back up that is less convient but can be used if you run out of buttons. And he is right, it is 497.
