Greetings,

I have installed a vodavi STS phone system for a local restaurant. Long after the install they bought a flash voicemail card for the system. It seems to have installed/powered up ok. outgoing messages have been recorded, auto attendants assigned etc.

Dumb question- how does one activate the voice mail so that it actually answers a call?

I have spent hours in the manuals and the simple request to turn it on seems to be overlooked.

help please!

Use preset forward your co lines to voicemail.

Use preset forward timer to adjust your ring count to answer your voicemail.

Before you do this with laptop/hyperterm do
an initialization on your voicemail.
If not it will come back and grab ya. smile

if you want the auto attn to answer set the line ringing to a hunt group ie 450 and asign the voicemail stations to that hunt group, in menu 100 record a greeting that tells the caller what to do (ie dial 106 for john) then set the phones to cfb or cfrna to 440

Yes, George is right, there is more that one way to skin a cat with the STSe.

Admin programming, store your attendant greeting in 1, for system greetings.

I dont find a menu 100.

Yep, like setting the lines to ring to 440 instead of programming another hunt group.

I'm sure George is thinking of the InSkin HDD or the TalkPath/Dispatch when he was refering to Menu 100.

yes i only sell hard drive voicemails and they program just like the talkpath used with the infinite system. You should know that a system that sold last year may have a software problem. CO Line Call foward dosen't work, the system would only use station call foward. it was a pain but you could get a patch fron Vodavi.

George

We are talking about inskin flash voicemail.

"co line call forwarding doesn't work "

It works here in Illinois, sorry it doesnt work down your neck of the woods.

Help, am i missing something here. ?

Original post is referring to inskin flash ?
Your reference is to a different animal of voicemail

NFC, I'm surprised you don't use 450 for voice mail hunt groups. 440 is looking for digits and 450 does not. If you are sending a line to a mailbox instead of the main greeting then I would understand. I know, I know, you've probably not had any problems with it working with the STS, but the older mach 1's and triads had a lot of problems when a tech used 440 instead of 450 for the lines. I just got used to doing it the right way. Havn't had a problem since.

Works like a champ on the STS and XTS. Never worked on the Mach 1 or Triad to speak of.

I use 450 also. Way too many troubles with the older systems forwarding to 440.

STS E, the early STS had some issues with preset forwarding.
