My knowledge on Vodavi is limited as I install mostly Panasonic and Mitel. So I need a little help. I have a 1428 KSU that has chip set 3.4N.
I am trying to get Caller ID to show on station 100. Went into program and Flash 56 turn on CLID. Line has caller ID. The phone LCD just shows line 01. What am I missing? TIA

Kevin

At one time, I was somewhat knowledgeable about the 1428/2856s--but it's been a while... I looked at appendix C-10 in the manual---and you are right in using Flash 56.

Did you make sure you pressed HOLD and got a confirmation tone after you enabled it?

I have seen nothing at all about versions of software making a difference. My book is dated Nov 1991--that's got to be one of the earliest versions.

Did you enable NAME or NUMBER?? Maybe that makes a difference somehow.

We only have 1 2856 left in customer base--and I don't think I ever programmed that one for ICLID.

I hope some of the other Mods jump in some time with some better information than I have given you. Good Luck.

Kevin:

There's a very important missing part: The caller ID interface unit. It parallel-connects to the CO lines and then to the system via a serial data cable. If you don't have one of those, you won't be able to have caller ID. The system itself is not equipped to receive and process caller ID.

3.4N software is OK. It only went up to 3.4S or T, so you won't need to worry about an upgrade if you don't want to mess with that part.

Ed:

I have been looking for the part number of the Caller ID Unit in the manual---and just can't find where it's mentioned.

Would he use a 1440-00 (4 port)or a 1480-00 (8 port)? I thought that was just for the DHS

I may be missing some pages in my manual. Have looked all over it. Can't find it. In appendix C--there's all sorts of info---but I keep missing any mention of the Called ID Unit or part number.

Straighten me out. I'm mixed up.

Either one can be used depending upon the number of lines that need to be covered. These same units were sold with Comdial, Fujitsu and Sprint labeling, but they are all the same product.

The newer 7480-00 (9 line) unit can also be used.

I've installed these units on Comdial's and Vodavi's and they work well once you set the dip switches right. I haven't installed one in about 6 or more years now. Easy install, good luck...

Thanks for your help guys. I can't find the part number in the manual either. I need a 4 port module. Anybody have one for sale/trade? Send me a PM.
