Hi, my company just installed a used Starplus STS phone system. I was able to use the admin password to reset every phone's password except for one. This one station has the previous users vm still on it and I am unable to access it... I tried deleting it through admin options, and also tried to directly change it but have not been able to do anything with it. Help!

Good morning. If you are in system administrator mailbox, which you say you tried it would be under
" 2 " mailbox administration.
If you don't get this prompt then you are not in the right program.

Deleted the mailbox and create new mailbox.

Do you have the manual or copy of ?

I have had to change mailbox passwords many times for customers. This is the procedure I followed and I have never had a problem doing it.

Changing a Mailbox Access Code
If a subscriber forgets their access code, you can reset it without deleting the mailbox and its
messages. Once they are given the new temporary access code, the subscriber should
immediately enter their mailbox and change the temporary access code to one of their own.
To change a Mailbox Access Code:
1. Access the System Administrator Mailbox as described on page C-9. The Administrator
Options Menu plays.
2. Press [2] to access mailbox administration.
3. After the prompt, enter the mailbox number for which you want to change the access
code.
4. After the next prompt press [1] to change an access code.
5. Enter the new access code, then press [#] to accept. The system will announce the new
access code for confirmation, then you are returned to the Administrator Options menu
in Step 1.
6. When you finish changing the access code(s), you have three choices:
Press [1] through [9] to select another System Administrator task to perform.
Press [] to return to the system Main CCR Menu.
Press [] + [] to exit the system completely.
7. Give the new temporary access code to the subscriber. Tell the subscriber to enter their
mailbox immediately to change the access code to one of their own choice.
When accessing any of these features, you are first asked to enter a mailbox number.
This is the mailbox that will be acted upon.
This is the only method for changing the administrator mailbox access code.
If this didn't work for you then I would call a vendor in.

yes, I deleted it after the #2 prompt, it says its deleted in admin access, but when I use the phone for the station in question to access the VM, it still goes to the old password protected site of the previous user. Why would it do this??

I believe you need to only change the mailbox password for that extension, not deleting the mailbox. It may not be able to be deleted because there are messages in that mb. Go in and change the password, then access the mailbox and delete the messages. After this you should be able to delete mb if desired.
You can hook up pc/laptop to the voice mail card and use hyper terminal to see exactly what is going on with that mb also... Good Luck

I was hoping to avoid having a vendor come in. Yes, I followed the directions on C-9 to the letter.. and then deleted the box and then created a new one. For some reason this does not change the VM when accessed from the extension in question. When programming the button on this station's phone, I programmed it to 440 which is our general voicemail access number... I'm wondering if somehow this is accessing the wrong vm account?

It is possible that the extension is accessing a mailbox that has a different number than the extension. That would be something the vendor would program.

As Tony said, you may not be able to delete a mailbox that has messages. Did you try changing the password and then manually deleting the messages?

Some of the Vodavi voice-mails would not complete erase a message until the clean-up time. The clean-up time was generally set for late night or very early morning.

Yes, I tried to change the password. Same problem...In the admin access it says that it has been changed to the new number... this is what's so confusing to me... When I follow the manual and enter into admin options, it says the box for station 101 is new and has my programed password, but when I go to station 101 and use the phone to access their voicemail, it sends me to that old vm account that I don't have a password for. Why would the two not be communicating(admin system and the station..)?

I would lokk at the VM ID digits for that extension and verify it is the same. If you think it is 101 and you keep changing 101 but it has been set to go to 121 then you will never find it. Go into system programming and take a look, seeing it is a used system then you should have access.
Flash 50 xxx,xxx hold
Page B
Button 13

Make sure it matches as the extension.

No, you need to enter system programming via the installer's password. Do you know if your system has a modem card installed? If you do, you'll hear it when you dial extension 499. If so, we may be able to help you remotely.

Sorry.. I realized flash is accessed from my programming access number. I did what you said.. instead of "page B" the phone says "page A" and when I then push 13 it sends me to exec override block disabled... its this what I want or do I need to figure out how to get to "page B"?
