Can a STSe do a Call Transfer from one site location to another? 2 offices same owner different location.


Call comes in, Receptionist answers and wants to transfer the call to the different location.

Other location has a SBX.

If talking about an offnet transfer yes. Just hit transfer dial 9 or pick up a line and connect to the other caller and hang up.

And if the provider offers CO Call Transfer, you can use the Flash button and avoid tying up two lines.

Thats the biggest problem. The techs around here from the Provider says its offered but when I go to order the service, the people say its not offered even though it is ADVERTISED in the handbook.

What about re-grading the lines to Centrex? I believe that BellSouth referred to this as ESSEX back in the Bell days. God only knows what "The New at&t" calls it, but you might get lucky by using this buzzword.

In this area, Bell Atlantic (Verizon) will provide Centrex service as long as there are at least two lines. If under thirty lines, they refer to it as "CustoPak", sold in bundles of up to eight lines or thirty.

To be honest, I can not get a straight answer from the company. We only have 2 REAL provders here. I know the techs very well from both providers and they say they do have it. When I call to get it, Customer Service says they don't have it. I go into very simple detail to explain what I want but to no help.

I no longer care to educate an ignorant rep. Why provide a free service? I generally explain my background and then ask for a supervisor. Of course, when the supervisor is ignorant too, I can have a little perverse fun at their inability to offer traditional telephony services. Of course, sometimes it's just learning their proprietary term for their product. If I don't meet with success, I tell the customer how their system can usually offer a band-aid solution to compensate for their provider's shortcomings.
