Ed, yes, the DSX and DS 2000 use the 8P8C connectors and, depending on the card and system, do four COs, four stations, or just something to drive the DIY crowd nutz.
Example: So the 16 station digital card has four 8P8C jacks (not RJ45) that allows these 16 stations to appear on the backboard.
I buy the install cables instead of making them, makes a nice neat KSU and backboard.
