Is this when the call first rings into the system or are you talking about after it is tranfered to an extension?

Analog phone systems are 816, 1224 and 56EX/120
Digital phone systems are DCS, DCS Compact, 50si, iDCS 100, iDCS 500, 616
Do you know what system you have asks phoneman123.
Voice mails are: Starmail, Cadence, SMVI-8, SMVI-8e, Smvi-4, SVMI-4e, SMVI-2e
Do you know what voicemail you have asks phoneman123.
I would add, do you have any calls ringing on your phone other than your direct line?

Here is what I know from all of his posts dcs with a pri he does not know the vm so he is an end user chances are is an svmi 8 but he wont confirm it there is nothing said anyplace about analog lines so dont count on it being a dedicated line, it might be however a did from the pri So ken lets get some info. when you press the message key what shows in the display is it "cadence" is it "svmi" or is it "voicemail group". next lets go to the cabinet and open the cover or covers in there will be the voicemail and it is labeled. if its not there then its a thirdparty mail and must be nearby someplace. While there at the cabinet please note what is inside eg tepri card, c1 card, dli card, did card and so on. Please dont mistake my post for being short with you, everyone here wants to help so bad they can taste it but you cant seem to get us the info we need and its hard to help when we dont know what is going on. that said..... a little more info would be great and it would be nice of you to assist here instead of brushing it off and hoping someone will guess the right answer for you. People here get PAID to do what you are trying to for a living so please keep that in mind when posting here. Now as for the techs here trying to help, you know the drill no info no help and he is not exactly forthcomming with the basics like system type and so on and his profile is empty so it should be user guide basics only unless you know something I dont (like he is a tech) which is doubtful

Here is a thought
if its a direct line from the outside what phone is on it, the samsung phones dont work on direct c.o lines so it must go thru the system.
that said you have several posts on how to forward phones to voicemail and I am sure that some of the info there will fix your problem

Hey you intuitive guesser you, how do you get to a pri, it could be a T-1, or a copper line, or a PRI, right?
How do you get it is an SMVI-8, we don't even know if it is a digital because he called it a Prostar? It could be an 816, a 1224, or a 56/120 on a starmail or even something else attached to a starmail.
This is what you call analysis, this is what the government paid me to learn to do, and they don't even get any taxes for it because I'm working here for free. Now if you would like me to do a full evaluation on you, HMMM I could come down to Texas and show you how an old dyke fixes things. (grin)
Happy New Year Wrichey and to all a good year and a good night.

That was the point I am guessing :p and the only real info is "samsung dcs12d phone" so were do we go from here. the phone he has only works on the newer systems so we can skip the old prostar stuff. the voicemail can search on entered last name so it must be at least as new as the cadence. conclusion dcsc or dcs maybe,, but then again I am guessing. As for the pri that was a shot in the dark again making my point. If you cant give us info then you should only get userguide support I had my eval last week and they made me test again, what does that mean I had shrink that smoked a pipe and had hairy legs (she scared me) You have a good new year as well

You are right, I am an end user and I am full aware that the tech gets PAID. Are tech is here for much more involved stuff and he knows that I do some stuff myself. I am sorry that I have not provided enough information, it is not because I am trying to withhold it or anything. It is probably because usually I don't know and most of the time I am so busy I have a hard time getting back to the forum right away. So, I usually hope that you, the experts, have an answer for me. I truly appreciate all the help everyone has supplied me with. By all means, it is not my intentions to piss anyone off or cut out someone from making a dollar. I am a PC tech and I love getting my hands dirty and learning about other technologies. I will try to have more information for you if you choose to answer future posts of mine. Thanks again.

Who had you test again wrichey? Samsung? Your boss? The draft board? The Technician Steroid Committee? Was it pencil and paper test or a pee in the bottle test?
Well Ken, did you have someone do this or did you give up or did you decide it is not important?
If you list the cards that are in the cabinet we will know what cabinet you have and go from there.
