Is it necessary to attach alternating support pedestals in each row of the raised floor to the bonding grid ,then alternate rows in an "S" fashion throughout the data center for proper grounding? Or can we simply run a perimiter loop with our #6 to alternating pedestals?

No you don't have to do this. Since it's a continuous metallic structure, you only need to bond it one time and that can be through physical structural attachment to the building frame. You will need to check the UL listing for the flooring system to make sure that all interlocking parts qualify as electrically connected. Most of them are.

A piece of #6 copper between the raised floor frame system and the nearest I-beam is all that you need. Even that's overkill in my opinion.

I can't speak for particular local codes though, I'm just answering based upon the NEC. Local codes have a higher level of enforcement authority and I have heard that NYC is impossible unless you have a pocket full of Benjamins.

I can't speak to the code as it's recently been revised and i don't have a current copy. I do believe it's available online though - call 311 and they should be able to give you the website.

Having said that - EVERY raised floor I ever worked on has been bonded numerous times. Every other pedestal & alternating rows sounds about right - but check for the latest revisions.

I believe the last one we had installed; the manufacturer had the grounding requirements to maintain the UL listing.
