We have an old ADIX system and are trying to redo some speed dials. I do not have remote access to the system but "should" be able to change the speed dials from the phone themselves. How do i do a button inquiry on the phones so i can see what speed dial code they are currently using?

i have tried Feat - # 9 then the button without success. YES with the handset down. LOL

The only 'speed dials' you'll be able to change are for calls to external numbers. If you're trying to change direct extension calling, that can't be done from a user's keyset.

The FEAT # 9 will only dsplay how the button is programmed. If the display shows SPD 90 or something similar, it only means bin 90 is being used. If you want to know what's IN bin 90, press FEAT, SPEED, dial 90 and the stored number will be displayed. If you want to change THAT, dial over it and press FEAT when done.

We are trying to change dialing to external numbers. When we hit feat then # 9 then the button nothing shows on the display. Some times when we hit feat # .. feat becomes unlit.

When you press FEAT, # ,9 , any button, the FEAT key should flash and the button's programming will show in the display.

If the FEAT key doesn't flash it could mean an invalid key pattern for the phone or a stuck button somewhere. If no assignment is made for a particular key, the display will say 'No Assign'.

Do the phones work normally otherwise?

It's possible that the FEAT key isn't really a FEAT key- it may have been reassigned in programming, or a new pattern was created that didn't have the keys assigned. Or a KT had been plugged into a port designated as a VTA/VersaPhone- different configurations and different key patterns.

In any event, you don't NEED a key programmed to use a personal speed dial other than the system-wide SPEED key. Press SPEED, dial a bin number (90-99 for personal numbers, 000-899 for system wide numbers) and you'll be all set.

ok let me explain the situation... i have 60+ phones at a hotel.. yes i know why in the word woudl anyone put digital phones in hotel rooms. this was done pre me. I have 3 speed dials that need to be changed on ALL the phones. I assume that they are system speed dials. I figured it would be easier if we could simply change the speed dials since i cna not get in to the system remotely as of yet. (no programmer)

Sorry for missing the bottom of your first post, Usually in these posts people put a space and do some quote/statement thingy... my mistake for missing it. Is the display saying "no assign" when you do the FEAT #9 and button? or nothing at all.. I would go to a phone, press FEAT 99 to confirm FEAT button is working (extension should display), if so do the FEAT#9 and button and let us know exactly what it shows on the display.

outside line. The feat key probably is disabled on those phones? I will have them check the feat 99 and respond back.

Let me give you some tidbits information
FEAT 99 - Tells you the extension you are on

FEAT #9, then press the key - will tell you what that key is programmed as, if for Example it will say in the display "System Speed 000".

If you Email me I can give the codes for each system feature and how to change them over the Attendant KT. I will give you my direct line so you can call me too.

Thanks

What, specifically, is the phone model number in all the rooms?

I figured it out... I was able to go to a location that i could get in to locally and found what the speed dial #s were and was able to confirm them at the site via the operator phone.
