Have an SLT extension that is like a modem, it dials out to 3rd party to buy more money for a postage machine.

Worked fine as an SLT extension when on a normal CO, but is no longer working on PRI. All other analog phones work fine including polycom, except this postage machine.

Apparently, the modem is waiting to detect the Off-Hook, then the dial tone. The PRI is giving the modem a dial tone so fast it never detects the Off-Hook.

Where could I tweak this requirement, Class 10.10, or 11.15 maybe? Or should I just move it to a copper fax line?

Thanks,

Joe

The modems used in postage machines will never be called cutting-edge. Rather than detecting an off-hook, it's supposed to create the off hook in order to draw dial tone. Modems over PRI can be shaky at times, depending on a number of things. You'll save a fortune on pain-killers if you move the postage machine to a copper line. SInce it's only used to actually call out, you can piggy-back the thing to any line you want when you need to.

Sometimes the thoughts in my head get so bored, they go for a stroll through my mouth. This is rarely a good thing.

Ok, thanks JBean, I'll move it to a copper fax.

Any idea how to program a pause in a system speed dial for a PRI in class 5?

Instead of the #72 they had before, they have to now call a number, wait about 5 seconds, then enter a code and a number to forward to.

I have tried a P in between, but that doesn't
seem to work. If I put a number after the P it actually dials that number, I think.

The Pause shows as a dash on the LCD, and the time seems to be dialed too.

Thanks,

Joe
